Teradyne Test Engineer / Test Development Engineer in Heredia, Costa Rica

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in decision-making process regarding both test methodologies and software structure for PV/ DV software from a production test perspective.

  • Debug software online and offline.

  • Develop Theory of Test and Training Documentation

  • Evaluate hardware including HW / SW integration, HW debug, HW performance, statistical analysis, and setting of production test limits.

  • Perform software qualification for production use.

  • Support production and final system integration test to meet shipment schedule.

  • Write production test procedures and train production personnel on test processes.

  • Drive improvement efforts to achieve quality goals.

  • Drive and facilitate all aspects of yield, reliability and process improvement work on new DC and AC instruments in the Pilot Line.

  • Interface with HW and SW Design engineering, Manufacturing engineering and other internal and external (subcontractor) groups to achieve desired improvement goals.

  • Conduct product performance and reliability analysis and perform system level, module level and component level troubleshooting.

  • Develop and implement training plans for internal and subcontractor factory teams

Position Subject to ITAR controls:


Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required:

  • System level knowledge of ATE.

  • Knowledge of digital circuits to implement and debug precision measurement methods, including both functional and performance properties of electrical circuits.

  • Statistics and statistical process control.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work as member of a development team.

  • Great attention to details.

  • Ability to perform multi-tasks.

  • Experience in computer/electronic design or diagnostic and test development, (related to Automated Test Equipment, Design or Test in semiconductor industry preferred).

  • Knowledge of both analog and digital circuits and experience with component-level debug of PCB assemblies.

  • Knowledge of Visual Basic or C sharp is a plus.

  • Strong Data Analysis skills.

  • Willingness to adjust working hours to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to US and/or China (1-2 months).
