VMware Senior Business Analyst, Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics in Heredia, Costa Rica

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for working with key business customers and IT teams to deliver Business Intelligence solutions to support VMware’s growing business with optimized systems/processes.
The role will be responsible for supporting Global teams working with colleagues and stakeholders – with a focus on VMware’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) line of business. The position requires the Business Analyst to be a self-starter with strong leadership, project / program management, analytical, and training skills who is comfortable working with distributed teams, at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities & Scope:
Provide support to stakeholders by developing dashboards \ reports to answer business questions and investigating data issues
Work across a multitude of reporting and advanced analytics projects across business functions. Ideal candidate would have worked on reporting and advanced analytics projects in a leading firm
Lead reporting projects, taking ownership of successful completion for the end to end lifecycle
Understand SaaS Business processes and data flows
Drive process improvements and efficiencies through support case analysis and process reengineering
Prototype reports and dashboards to get users engaged and excited about BI solutions
Provide guidance and expertise through visualization and story-telling with data best practices
SaaS DW and EDW data linkages. Ability to deliver "Hybrid Reporting" (customer-level reporting across SaaS and On-Prem)
Create in-depth business requirements across functions, such as Partner Sales and Finance, for larger company driven projects
Direct stakeholder engagement with business teams and management of stakeholder relationships
Perform exploratory data analysis – identifying trends and key drivers of metrics
Support SaaS Propensity Model and other data sciences model development
Develop expertise on business processes, life-cycles, and data drivers to recommend BI solutions and drive requirement discussions
Partner closely with IT teams on functional requirements and design to drive successful end state solutions and user experiences
Perform UAT activities to validate whether requirements are being met through front end solutions, data model verification, and source to target mapping
Collaborate on the definition of KPIs and metrics to monitor and run the business
Support communication, training, and documentation to enable successful user adoption
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in dashboard \ report development, Business Analysis, Requirements Development, and implementation of Business Intelligence Solutions
Technical knowledge and experience working with the industry leading BI tools: Tableau and SQL skills are mandatory; SAP Business Objects is good to have.
Functional knowledge of SaaS business models and related metrics is preferred.
Good to have experience on end to end modeling using R, SAS or Alpine; Summarization and modeling experience using R
Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
Clear, professional, and concise communications (written/verbal), presentation and facilitation skills.
Must have combination of excellent communication skills (including presentation skills) and Technical skills
Must be able to use consultative approach and persuasive communication with stakeholders
Ability to take initiative and to set priorities independently
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preference for Computer Science or Business Administration
