Job Responsibilities

The incumbent will drive on-going quality assurance reviews of regulatory reporting as a leader on the Quality Assurance Team:

  • Review the end to end processes used to report U.S. Regulatory Reporting disclosures (CCAR/FR Y-14, FR Y-9C, Call Report, etc.) to assess the integrity and soundness

  • Partner closely with Corporate & Regulatory Reporting, Regional Finance, Product Control and will collaborate with FRO Process Leads in Tampa and Costa Rica.

  • Matrix report into the Global Quality Assurance Team Lead and be expected to participate on simultaneous reviews, identify issues and exceptions, develop remediation plans and communicate effectively to senior stakeholders.

  • Lead two staff members.The reviews will include:

  • Data tracing: reconciling externally reported balances to source documents, determining completeness and accuracy of reporting

  • Data profiling: analyzing referential/indicative data elements for data standard anomalies

  • Compliance validation: comparing regulatory instructions with internal processes and procedures to ensure compliance.

  • Production Reviews: timely validation of reporting including variance analysis

The incumbent will establish working relationships with Risk, Operations, and Product Control, and utilize influence to ensure data, documentation, responses to inquiries and remediation actions are provided timely.

  • Liaise with Risk, Operations and Product Control to obtain source system data necessary for the review and analyze data for inconsistencies

  • Interface with product and country controllers to obtain customer source data, review contracts and determine if critical data elements were accurately reported; making note of any exceptions.

  • Communicate to CCAR work stream owners and relevant business contacts exceptions, defend point of view utilizing strong knowledge of CCAR and Regulatory Reporting, and follow through to ensure remediation actions are performed.

  • Produce reports, illustrating purpose, strategy, and results of review

Other responsibilities include:

  • Updating KPIs, metrics, and other presentations, identifying enhancement opportunities and implementing, and supporting manager in the messaging of results/value add to senior management

  • Providing input on training programs and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Participating in Internal Audit (IA) reviews. Supporting Global Manager in assessing and enhancing operational controls

  • Assign, manage, and review work of staff, evaluating their findings and judgment in applying regulatory principles to reporting

  • Facilitating ad hoc, special requests and project management



  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • CPA and/or Audit experience required

  • 7+ years of Finance, Accounting, Risk or Product Control experience, preferably at large financial institution

  • Strong knowledge of banking products and services, especially loans, deposits, securities and derivatives

  • Strong understanding of current accounting principles, policies and financial institution regulatory reporting, particularly FR Y-14, FRY-9C, Call Report

  • Exceptional analytical skills, combined with an ability to deliver analyses in a concise and logical manner including complex CCAR technical knowledge

  • Data tracing/mining experience preferred

  • Experience in working in operations unit requiring coordination across multiple regions and business segments.

  • Must have strong communication skills (oral and written) to clearly articulate findings, defend point of view amongst various groups, and present to senior management

  • Must be highly influential with multiple stakeholders, including Operations and Product Control with no direct oversight.

  • Managerial experience

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Microsoft Project and PowerPoint to develop project plans and reports/presentations

  • Strong General Ledger Platforms, Product Processors, and Data Warehouses experience

  • Must be a proactive and goal-oriented strategic thinker, with ability to identify creative solutions.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage to project plan, demonstrating independent leadership skills.

  • Possess strong team building, planning and project management skills driven by process improvement.

  • Strong understanding and appreciation of internal control environment, reporting, and metrics is required.
