Mondelez International is looking for: Payroll Taxes and Reconciliation Senior Specialist


The MBSC Payroll Taxes and Reconciliation Senior Specialist is accountable for the effective and efficient delivery of payroll providing functional support to employee’s concerns, issues, request and queries for the complex North America (US & Canada) payroll for approximately 22,000 employees with various, separate union agreements.


1) Payroll Tax Expertise & Knowledge

-Maintain an up to date knowledge of North America payroll Tax processes and regulations to ensure accuracy & compliance, and stay abreast of changes required.

2) Subject Matter Expert-Payroll Operations

-Senior role includes team support, resolution of complex issues, providing guidance to junior members on standards, approaches and planning.

-Manage the end to end process for Taxes, Reports Reconciliation and Overpayment Administration.

3) Payroll Processes

-Ensures timely and accurate processing of all weekly, bi-weekly and monthly taxes for both US and Canada.

-Provide support to all Payroll Reports and Reconciliation including but not limited to: Benefits, Union Dues, Stock Options, Record of Employment, Wage Statements, and Multiple Worksite Reporting.

-Assist in resolving payroll issues related to but not limited to Stop Payments, ACH rejects and reversals.

-Pull or create new reports to support payroll inquiries, compliance, audit, or other areas as needed.

4) Continuous Improvement

-Seeks ways to make the process and service simpler and more cost effective for the business

-Contributes to an environment that is passionate for simplification

5 ) Controls & Compliance

-Ensures that payroll tax processing is run in line with internal and external control requirements.

-Ensures that the day to day Payroll Reports and Reconciliation are done properly and accurately.

-Ensures that the established procedures for Overpayments as well as Recovery are followed from end to end.

6 ) Internal Relationship within MBSC

-Foster strong relationship with payroll colleagues to ensure agreed processes and services are delivered in line with agreed service levels, customer service and key performance indicators.


-Academic Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business/Finance

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or its equivalent preferred

-Working Knowledge:

  1. Minimum of 3 years payroll experience as part of the 4 years related work experience [if CPP or FCP].

  2. Experience in a complex payroll environment

  3. Experience with outsourced payroll delivery including vendor management

  4. Experience with US & Canada payroll

  5. Union payroll experience

  6. Experience in managing corporate audits

  7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, SAP & payroll applications (Ultipro System)
