Tech Data - US Manager, HR-CR in San Jose, Costa Rica
This role oversees the HR function in Costa Rica and is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of high-value, quality human resources programs, practices and procedures, often encompassing several areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management/development, compensation and benefits, training, etc. The role reports to the Director, HR - Latin America.
Collaborates with HR Centers of Expertise (COEs) to execute enterprise-wide programs and solutions that meet business needs.
Effectively balances business partner responsibility with employee advocacy and builds a positive employee relations culture and work environment. Acts as a change agent/leader and culture steward.
Develops and implements plans and actions to improve employee engagement and manager effectiveness and foster inclusion. Supports leaders as a strategist, coach, facilitator and architect.
Assumes leadership role and drives to resolution major HR projects which address strategic HR issues and have cross-functional impacts
Serves as a business partner, change agent, and member of the line leadership staff
Consults proactively with and influences senior management on business issues, HR strategies and organizational design issues
Contributes to the development of department strategy
Consults with management to determine project objectives with long-term implications
Acts as mentor to less experienced colleagues
Develops and executes a talent agenda, ensuring the right talent at the right time to drive business success
Drives initiatives to improve employee engagement, culture, diversity, talent assessment and development
Ensures that performance is managed and rewards are distributed based on demonstrated performance
Directs the activities of the HR staff
Manages and leads the HR team; drives team performance; mentors and develops team members to drive results for the business.
May serve in a multitude of HR capacities, including employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, event planning, workforce reporting and payroll
Participates in the rollout of company-wide HR initiatives
Manages escalations and dispute resolutions through company programs and policies
Applies governmental regulations to the development of and administration of HR programs and policies
Minimum of 7 years in HR, preferably with 2+ years in a leadership role
Must be fluent in Spanish and English

Experience working in a matrix organization reporting to more a remote executive in the United States.
