Mondelez International is looking for Payroll Reconciliation Manager

The Payroll Reconciliation Manager is accountable for a team for effective and efficient delivery of payroll ensuring compliance, non-standard payroll processes and projects for the complex North America (US & Canada) payroll for approximately 22,000 employees with various, separate union agreements. This position sits in the “Operations bubble” of the organization’s 3 circle HR model.

  • This role works with several HR Payroll team members split across a management team based in North America & an operations team based within the MBSC, Philippines.

  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of North America payroll processes and regulations to ensure accuracy & compliance, and stay abreast of changes required

  • Perform Union Payment & Report Balancing activities in line with financial and regulatory requirements for remittances made by our payroll provider

  • Perform Garnishment Balancing activities in line with financial and regulatory requirements for remittances made by our payroll provider and support vendor inquires or

  • Perform administrative processes including calculation and support to determine amounts, collection, updating of employee payroll records, and tracking collection for the overpayments process and ensuring true-up calculations are properly reported against

  • Perform administrative processes including calculation and support for underpayments to ensure processing and true-up calculations are submitted for payment according to operating procedures in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Execute testing scripts, including interfaces with vendors, end-to-end testing for Sox, audits, payroll incidents and enhancements

  • Contributes to an environment that is passionate about simplification, and seeks ways to make the process and service simpler and more cost effective for the business

  • Foster strong relationships within the HR Solutions team in particular with wider payroll, Compensation, Benefits, & HR Coordinators

  • Monitors payroll processes and executes changes in line with regulatory and compliance requirements and ensures payroll is run in line with internal and external controls requirements

The successful candidate will have:


  • Preferred a degree in Accounting or Finance or a minimum of 21 hours of Accounting at the College Level. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, SAP & payroll applications


  • Minimum of 2 years payroll experience as part of a minimum of 4 years related work experience (eg accounting) experience

  • Experience in a complex payroll environment

  • Experience with outsourced payroll delivery including vendor management

  • Experience with US & Canada payroll is ideal

  • Union payroll experience preferred

  • Experience managing corporate audits

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel advanced, Access, Word, SAP & payroll applications

  • Must be willing to travel within North America if needed for testing, training, or specific business needs (potential once or twice per year)

  • 2 years of managing team, building effective teams, establish goals while in Shared Services environment


  • Strong Interpersonal skills, effectively works autonomously and independently with minimal guidance

  • Customer orientation with regard to the payroll service and working with internal departments

  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and ability to exercise sound judgment.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Drive for results with the ability to work within tight deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritize effectively.

  • Ability to work as a member of a team

  • Ability make sound decision for processes and/or raise issues appropriately to the Senior Payroll Manager for required support
