The Global Technology Operations team are seeking an experienced SQL DBA. The successful applicant will join a highly experienced and motivated Distributed Database team, responsible for the support & development of SQL Server instances running highly critical applications within the UK, EMEA, APAC & North America. Experian is developing the SQL Server platform at a tremendous rate and we need someone who can operate independently, supporting highly available 24*7 database platforms, build strong trusted relationships with the business & deliver innovate solutions at lowest cost of operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze system activity and performance, and report performance issues

  • Perform Installation, configuration and upgrading of Data and Database platform/software and related products.

  • Responsible for the database backup

  • Implement and maintain security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)

  • Performance monitoring and tuning

  • Generate and maintain documentation and standards.

  • Work as part of a team and provide 7×24 supports when required.

  • Assist with debugging and troubleshooting of data operations system

  • Coordinate and conduct routine operational tasks

  • Responsible for capacity planning

  • Responsible for database availability and recoverability

  • Responsible for Security Audit

  • Responsible for departmental routine tasks

  • Responsible for scheduling and executing all Database Maintenance



  • 2 - 4 years of experience in Microsoft SQL 2008 & later

  • Experience with SQL Replication and High Availability

  • Excellent English communication skills


  • Highly motivated, independent, analytical, detail focussed

  • Can manage multiple priorities subject to change daily

  • Excellent communicator at all levels, able to explain technology to all areas of the business

  • Able to build strong and trusted partnerships across the business

  • Ability to work within process in a tightly governed environment, including PCI & FCA
