About Worldwide Partner-Go-To-Market Team:

The Worldwide partner go-to-market team is responsible for creating and maintaining the go-to-market strategy for various segments of the VMware Partner Network (VPN) including Solution Providers, System Integrators, Corporate Resellers, Outsourcers, and Service Providers. Over 80% of VMware’s revenue is attained through the VMware Partner Community, thus making Partner Sales an integral part of the VMware Sales team strategy and success. The go-to-market responsibilities for the Worldwide team include both ensuring that partners are equipped with the appropriate training and certification requirements necessary to competently sell and service VMware’s product offerings as well as developing and driving programs to motivate our partner community to focus on proactively selling VMware’s products. The Worldwide team interacts with and maintains key relationships with various different departments in VMware including Partner Programs, Product Marketing, Partner Marketing, Operations, Legal, Tech Support, Partner Enablement, Alliances and of course Field Sales to determine the best way to motivate our partners worldwide to proactively sell our products and services and fuel VMware sales growth plans. Worldwide Partner Go-To-Market Project Manager Job Description:

The Partner Go-To-Market Project Manager owns the execution of the partner go-to-market strategy for key VMware solutions. Enablement is key to partner success, and VMware tracks enablement through a set of sales, technical sales and post sales trainings that culminate in a partner achieving a “solution competency”. This person will manage and maintain the Management Operations and Management Automation Solutions Competency.

This person will also support the Partner Go-to-market lead for the product launches as well as working closely with partner operations, who manage the Solution Competency lifecycle. This person will additionally be responsible for driving our partner-facing as well as internal-facing content for our websites. This will include maintaining that content, ensuring product launch assets are updated in a timely manner, and the tracking of metrics to ensure adoption.

The Partner Go-to-Market Project Manager is a well-rounded individual who has excellent communication, organizational, marketing and interpersonal skills. Gaining a deep understanding of the channel business and of the Solution Providers (VARs) community will be key to success. The role requires a proven track record in messaging/positioning, communication, and broad execution capabilities. A requirement is to communicate, motivate, and leverage the Sales and internal teams to execute on our sales commitments together with our partner community.


Support the GTM lead in execution of the GTM strategy and successful adoption in the partner communities.

Support the Partner GTM team through product launches, including asset management, posting to the appropriate websites, ensuring localization is on track and captured as well as driving the communication activities across VMware’s various communication vehicles.

In addition, this person will work hand in hand with key global functions in Product Marketing and Partner Readiness to ensure we have the most current enablement and tracking mechanisms in place to drive the tracking and adoption of these key enablement offerings.

Competency and Product Assessments (vSphere Optimization Assessment, Hybrid Cloud Assessment, vSAN Assessment vRealize Network Assessment – tracking, communication, building momentum for uptake and maintaining the assets, messaging and executive summary across these initiatives aimed at training existing partners and increasing productivity.

Interface closely with the Partner Programs team to drive a cohesive plan of execution and consistent reporting of success.


  • 3 -5 years plus in a high-tech company

  • BA/BS degree required

  • Demonstrated success in project management and execution focused role

  • Passion around social media and outbound communication

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience tracking metrics and ROI

  • Must be motivated, self-starter who is used to being a high-powered individual contributor

  • Experience with maintaining website content

  • Past successful experience in a matrix management company and/or role
