VMware Network Engineer (Cloud) in Heredia, Costa Rica
Command Center Team is responsible for monitoring VMware’s Production Infrastructure and making sure that its up and running all the time.
This team provides 24x7 coverage and support and is responsible for monitoring, reporting, and escalation of any Production Infrastructure related issues.
This includes all SLA issues; such as Severity 1 incidents where the Network Infrastructure may experience issues.
Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
Administer servers, routers, switches, firewalls.Maintain system efficiency and troubleshoot problems reported by users.
Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together and Maintain network and system security. Monitor networks to ensure security and availability.
Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent work experience.
Experience with LAN/WAN/ISP link troubleshooting is required, including opening cases with circuit providers and datacenter personnel worldwide to resolve business critical connectivity issues.
Usage of workflow ticketing systems such as Service Now.
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, packet captures, and packet/flow analysis.
Experience with BGP, OSPF, and MPLS in multi-gigabyte environment.
Knowledge of IPv6, Multicast, Unix/FreeBSD/Linux, Open-Source NMS tools.
LTM/Load Balancer knowledge is a plus.
Scripting or programming skills in C/C++/Perl/Python is a big plus.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 3 -5 years’ experience
Knowledge and Skills
2+ Years of relevant experience as a NOC Engineer .
CCNA, CCNP Certification will be considered an advantage
Strong communication skills catered to a wide variety of audience (e.g. written, verbal, presentations) mastery in English and local language.
Advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
Relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.
