VMware Latin America Sales Operations Manager in Heredia, Costa Rica

The Latin America Operations Manager plays a key role within the Latin America Sales Operations team. The position will be responsible for ensuring sales data quality and generating, maintaining and independently executing ad-hoc and predefined sales report, analyses and insights for Latin America Sales Management.

The Latin America Operations Manager will participate in recurrent executive sales performance reviews and forecasting/planning meetings with senior management, enabling discussions and providing analytical insights as required.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role to deliver insightful analyses and reporting automation based on high quality data, which will demand a high level of attention to details, knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, advanced Excel skills and excellent communicational and interpersonal skills. The candidate should also possess a solid understanding of data flow between corporate systems and an ability to design, maintain and control processes to ensure accurate sales data quality, development of sales analytics and reporting

This position reports to the Director of Sales Operations Latin America and can be based out of Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Miami and Mexico DF.

Overall Job Activities

  • Design and monitor data quality and territory management processes and policies in alignment with the Americas Operations teams

  • Supervise the data quality team based out Latin America and closely coordinate data quality and territory management activities with the Americas Operations team and Operations Centers of Excellence based out of India, Costa Rica and the US

  • Supervise the Business Intelligence and Reporting team to ensure the development of sales performance reports, pipeline analytics, account activity, sales productivity, channel analytics, pricing, etc.

  • Propose and/or drive adoption of new Business Intelligence and reporting technologies as required

  • Design and maintain planning and forecasting models in alignment with changing go-to-market designs

  • Lead the bi-annual territory realignment process including the development of a timeline, deliverables, templates and communication to the field

  • Design, implement and maintain pre-defined scheduled reports, trending reports, and ad-hoc specific reports

  • Deliver periodic/On-demand projects for Latin American Sales Management on Business Reviews and go- to-market strategy

  • Apply analytical skills to integrate trends, data and information to transform them into deliverables and recommendations

  • Collaborate and work in conjunction with the LATAM Sales Operations team, providing field support across Latin America to provide accurate data, sales hierarchy, forecasting, planning and performance reporting

  • Support in the preparation of regional and Latin America business review preparations and ad-hoc analyses

Work Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of excellent track record in Sales Operations, Planning, Finance or related areas in Technology, Consumer Goods, Telecommunications sectors or a Management Consulting firm

  • Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, project and process- oriented

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively complex analyses, deliver insights and to adapt to diverse audiences at multiple internal levels

  • Expert Excel and Power point user

  • At least 3 years experience working as part of a reporting team using modern BI platforms, such as Tableau, Qlikview, SAP BusinessObjects, IBM Cognos in both an analytical and development capacity

  • At least 5 years working with structured query language, preferably ORACLE SQL

  • Team player, inclusive style, ability to multi-task, attention to detail, business and process oriented

  • Ability to maintain consistent standards of work quality and deliver under pressure

  • Positive attitude, passion, self-direction and motivation

  • Solid understanding of sales drivers and behavior and good knowledge of VMWare’s markets and offer

  • Possess good understanding of basic aspects and framework of sales processes and reporting

  • Superb problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to continuously Identify opportunities and to provide recommendations for operational improvements

  • Strong intellectual horsepower, ability to learn new tools and to understand environments in a rapid fashion

  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM preferred

  • Ability to manage a team and work effectively in both office-based and remote environments

  • Ability to travel as required (20% of time maximum)
