VMware HR Systems Analyst – Workday Benefits in Heredia, Costa Rica

The HRIS Systems Analyst will be a member of a dynamic global HR Information Systems and Analytics team. You will partner with the Senior Manager for HR Core Systems, to provide systems support for Workday Benefits. This is an opportunity to proactively contribute to the support and evolution of Workday Benefits, as well as engaging locally and internationally with a driven and talented team.

Systems Administration & Support (80% of time):

  • At the direction of senior team members, perform system administration functions for Workday including object and business process configuration, data loads, security administration, etc.

  • Act as HRIS coordinator for Workday leave administration, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, annual maintenance activities, etc.

  • Monitor & audit benefits and leave-related business process transactions and work with Benefits/HR Source team on workflow; assist stakeholders with processing transactions as needed.

  • Provide technical support for Workday Benefits, including processes impacting the new hire experience, open enrollment, life event changes, etc.

  • Monitor various benefits integrations for errors, and provide integration issue troubleshooting. Work with the Benefits team and/or external vendors as necessary to rectify integration errors, resubmit files, etc.

  • Troubleshoot bugs and reported issues by researching Workday Community or independent testing. Document resolution or escalate to HRIS Management as necessary.

  • Fully understand Benefits selection processes in Workday to provide troubleshooting and support for end users.

  • Provide support to Benefits Team in their management of any/all benefits processes via use of Workday Dashboards, Reports, etc.

  • Recommend process or system workarounds where possible and ensure tickets are opened for all critical Production bugs. Manage tickets and escalations via established processes & systems.

  • Act as an HRIS liaison for HR Source (HR Service Center) including partnering on call center training, maintaining documentation for the knowledge base, and accepting Workday-benefits related escalations.

  • Escalate systems administration and end-user issues promptly to HRIS team members or VMware IT; follow issues through to resolution (including testing, deployment, user communications)

  • Assist with preparation for annual benefits open enrollment programs including Workday configuration, system testing & deployment, preparation of documentation & communications, etc.

  • Escalate process change requests, system enhancements or any other major resource requests to HRIS leadership team for prioritization.

  • Participate in Workday Benefits product development by voting on Brainstorms, joining User Groups, collaborating in forums, etc.

HR Systems Projects (20% of time):

  • As the direction of the HRIS Lead for Open Enrollment, participate in Workday benefits configuration, testing, documentation, training, etc. Provide support for Production deployment/launch and OE window technical support activities.

  • Participate in Workday Update processes including testing of benefits functionality, integrations, reports & dashboards. This may include reviewing Workday documentation, creating test cases, executing test cases or review of test case results, maintaining issue logs, etc.

  • Under direction of HR Systems Manager or Project Manager, participate on other system implementation or upgrade project teams by performing business requirement gathering, business process review, project management, creating test cases, participating in QA testing and leading others through UAT, documentation development, communication, cutover, etc.

Position Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Business, Information Systems, or related area.

  • HRIS experience using HCM: Workday, Oracle HR, PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors.

  • Workday Benefits experience including configuration of plans, groups, eligibility rules; open enrollment process management, etc. strongly preferred.

  • Understanding on Benefits programs including benefit offerings, eligibility requirements and enrollment processes, reporting, etc.

  • Experience using Help Ticketing system to prioritize, manage, communicate and resolve issues.

  • Experience participating in HR projects or programs.

  • Good understanding of HR, Payroll, Finance and IT business processes as well as intra and inter-departmental functions and interdependencies.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills are required; ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze new issues is critical.

  • Must exhibit strong security and confidentiality practices.
