Database Administrator

Job Purpose:

This position provides overall Regional BAU support to Sector’s Database environments. This Individual will work closely with the GCPS MW SA, Server SA, SME teams and with the Technology and Development organizations ensuring the health of their applications hosted Database environments.

Job Background/context:

Technical position requiring strong MSSQL and Oracle technical background for providing 24x7 BAU Production support for the LATAM Sector Database environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the global roadmaps, procedures and best practices in the LATAM Database estate.

  • Execute and Enforce policies and standards within the Region.

  • Develop relationships with key internal/external customers to identify emerging needs.

  • Accountable for root cause analysis for Severity 1, Severity 2, and chronic recurring estate-wide incidents.

  • Collaborate with client managers, project managers, applications and infrastructure teams to plan and coordinate estate-wide changes.

  • Manage technical deliverables for estate and internal technical projects to high quality of standards.

  • Maintain internal infrastructure used for monitoring and metric dissemination.

Knowledge/Experience:

·5-10 Years’ experience in Database support.

  • Certification(s) in platform technology a Plus

  • English/Spanish Oral and written skills

  • Presentation skills that can influence the target audience and motivate to action

  • Ability to effectively mentor engineers
