Duties & Responsibilities:
Production/MRO Buyer is responsible for ensuring the material pipeline for MRO and Production through analysis of Bills of Material and MRP
Production Buying Responsibilities include
Working closely with Production and Planning to execute expense and inventory purchase orders
Resolve critical material shortages
Track product cost
Request and analyze Quotations
Review Non—Confirming Material Reports
Request RMA’s and process returns
Resolve inventory and invoicing discrepancies
Develop and monitor risk management plans.
MRO Buying Responsibilities
Review requests; interface with suppliers and internal stakeholders, analyzing price and availability of product or services.
Review work scopes and determine if delivery requirements are clear.
Obtain and analyze written price quotes from suppliers, and compare those quotes with specifications, requirements and availability.
Review orders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with existing policies and procedures to convert requests to purchase orders in a timely manner
Know of common business practices relating to the purchase, pricing, terms, shipment, taxes, and payment for commodities and services.
Work cooperatively with Teradyne employees and its supply base at all levels and sites.
Express ideas clearly.
Work within established policies and regulations.
Serve as a liaison between Teradyne and its vendors
Ability to succeed in a highly volatile environment that requires attention to detail while maintaining a broader scope vision to implement change.
Buyer must be able to work on cross-functional teams and to communicate with all levels of management. Candidates must be able to work independently. Buyer must be able to find creative ways to resolve problems.

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required:
Individual must have BA/BS or equivalent or experience in a materials related field. CPM qualification is a plus.
Applicant must be computer literate with a working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
Experience with Oracle is preferred. Skills with presentation software and database tools are helpful.
Excellent interpersonal and organization skills are a necessity.
This position deals with a global supply base, and strong English skills are required.
Individual must be a team player that has in-depth knowledge of a New Products, has a high level of flexibility, and will work toward common goals inter-departmentally and cross-functionally. An individual who has demonstrated proactive problem solving and leadership skills as well as a proven ability to envision and implement change (problem identification and solution recommendation, and implementation).
